Does CBD Have Any Side Effects?

Many people have been trying CBD oil, and most like it, but some people are hesitant, fearful of potential side effects. As someone who’s been helping Marylanders with our THC and CBD services, we wanted to take some time today to talk about CBD, and some potential side effects that some people experience.

Drowsiness

One of the most common side effects reported by users of CBD is drowsiness. Using CBD oil can make you sleepy, so it’s usually not recommended that you go driving or operate any heavy machinery when using CBD. This drowsiness can be worsened if you take CBD with some other kind of sedating medications.

Dry Mouth

Some people call this side effect “cotton mouth”, but no matter what you call it the effect is all the same. When vaping or ingesting CBD, many people report symptoms of dry mouth or dry eyes. These symptoms are only temporary and will go away before long, and it’s usually a symptom more associated with THC, though you may feel it if using CBD.

Issues with Your Gastrointestinal System

While not the most common symptom, some people who have used CBD have reported gastrointestinal problems, diarrhea, or liver problems. Most who experience these symptoms have a medical history of gastrointestinal problems. If you’re having these issues, you should talk with your doctor.

Feeling Nauseous?

Though rare, some people who ingest CBD supplements or vape CBD oil will experience symptoms of nausea. This typically depends on how sensitive someone is to CBD or how much they take. CBD supplements come in different forms and dosages, so if you’re experiencing nausea, talk to the doctor that prescribed you your CBD about changing your dosage.
