What is a Weed Hangover and Why Does it Happen?

Has this ever happened to you? You had a night of smoking/using weed, only to wake up the next day feeling groggy and sluggish? If it has, then that means you’ve experienced a weed hangover. At CannaLeaf Health, we’ve helped many Marylanders with all of their marijuana needs, and have helped more than a few get over their weed hangovers, which is what we wanted to talk about today.

What Exactly is a Weed Hangover?

Much like a regular hangover, weed hangovers occur the morning after a night of usage. The more weed you smoke/use, as well as how fast you use it, will greatly affect whether or not you will have a hangover. If you’re familiar with alcohol, you will know that this is also how that drug will give you a hangover.

Common Weed Hangover Symptoms

Marijuana affects people differently, though there are some general weed hangover symptoms that are commonly reported. Here are a few of them:

  • Nausea
  • Lethargy
  • Headaches
  • Brain fog
  • Fatigue
  • Dry eyes
  • Dry mouth

How to Get Rid of Your Hangover

Usually, your hangover will leave on its own over time, but there are a few things you can do to help alleviate the symptoms or speed the process up. You need to make sure to keep hydrated, and will also want to eat something, particularly healthy foods like whole-grain carbohydrates or protein. Showering and using caffeine can also provide some initial relief.
